Poetry: Those Galaxies of His

Those Galaxies of His

Once I met a boy

his eyes were like none other

not quite sparkle or twinkle or shine

his eyes held a galaxy each

full of blues and gold

of promise and hope

the only thing they lacked

the most powerful thing of all:

my boy never felt love

true love.

Not Romeo and Juliet love

definitely not Bella and Edward

the love that loves beyond the flaws

the snorts, scars, and silence

a love that consumes

but stays lit through desire and will

my boy

one day will feel love

perhaps not from me

or from the next

but he’ll feel it

and show it

in those galaxies of his.
