Poem: Just Remember

Just Remember

Note: “Just Remember” won the 2015 Proces Poetry Prize contest for the High School-Sophomore division.

Just remember

when your life is going down

just remember

to hold on tight

hold on to the memories

hold on to the people

that have helped to shape you

hold on to yourself

hold on to your dreams floating by

hold on and remember

just remember

the past is just that

the future is uncertain

just hold on to yourself

hold on to those freckles

hang tight to your smiles

hang tight dancing alone

hang tight to your singing

hang on to those moments

hang on to that innocence

hold on to those words

they make you who you are

hold on to the moments

when they disappear

just hold on

when your life is going down
